Clinical Note Editor

Learn how to use the Clinical Note Editor and its features for writing your notes

The Clinical Note editor is packed with many useful tools to help make writing your clinical notes easier.

Layout

When writing a clinical note from a template, you will be taken to the Clinical Note Editor. This page is split into 2 sides:

  • Your Template on the left to complete (the Editor)

  • A preview of your output notes on the right (the Preview Panel)

You will be able to see the name of the Template you are using at the top of the page.

Drafts

You can see when your Clinical Note was last saved in the top right corner of the page:

  • Auto-saved notes are available to continue editing in your Drafts section for 48 hours before they are permanently deleted.

  • Saved drafts are stored for up to 14 days before they are permanently deleted

Auto-save

Clinical Notes are auto-saved every few seconds to ensure you do not loose notes due to a loss of internet connection. You do not need to manually keep saving your note.

Save a draft

To save a draft of a clinical note to complete later, click on the 'Save as Draft' button.

Here you will be able to add an identifier to the note so you can what appointment it was for.

Editor Tool Bar

The tool bar in the editor contains features to help you complete your clinical note.

This includes:

  • Bold

    • To make text bold

  • Insert Snippets

    • Easily add in Snippets

  • Symbols

    • Quickly insert symbols to your notes

  • Emoji

  • Speech to Text

Undo and Redo changes

On the far right side of the tool bar is the Undo and Redo buttons.

These will undo and redo actions or input to your clinical note. You can also use the following Hot Keys:

  • Crtl (or ⌘) + Z to undo

  • Ctrl (or ⌘) + Shift + Z to redo

Adding Snippets

To quickly add in a Snippet to your clinical note, select the 'Snippet' option in the tool bar. Learn more about Snippets here

Snippets can also be added in using the Shortcut command

Actions toolbar

On the right side of the screen you will find the Actions toolbar. This contains some additional features for your clinical note, including:

Actions menu

To access this menu, click on the 3 dots in the Actions Toolbar

This is where you can:

  • Open and close the preview panel

  • Remove emojis from your output notes

  • Quickly edit your Template
